I recently tried to update from 0.78 to 0.78.3 and somehow managed to kill the install. Pi would reboot itself on occasions, other occasions hass.io will boot but HA would not have started.
In any-case, I decided to flash the SD card with a fresh install of Hass.io and restore a previous snapshot (from 0.76 i think). This simply didn’t work and for some reason the restore looked like it was just ignored and booted the standard 0.78.3.
Yep I am having all sorts of issues with restoring a snapshot. I simply cannot get my install working again. For me, just when needed, the snapshot feature did not work ;(
ditto… Fortunately the snapshot can be extracted and all the config files etc are all neatly structures so you can do a manual restore, albeit painfully time consuming.
But agree, this is one feature that needs to be 100% robust, else pointless having it.
