'remove device' button greyed out for 'ZWave JS'

Hi all,

I tried searching for it, but could not really find anything related. Hope someone can help.
I have a small zwave network within my HA installation (~20 devices). All was (and is) working fine.

Yesterday I tried to include a new device. It did not really work, so, as always, I got a little too impatient and cancelled. Right before I clicked though I saw the interviewing had started, but too late. Already pressed.

The added device was therefore not included correctly and I removed it as ‘broken device’ under the node’s properties in HA.

However, adding new devices now does not seem to work anymore. It times out, saying no devices in inclusion mode could be found. Also, the ‘remove’ button is greyed out:

I am on the latest HA/HA Cora/ZWave JS releases (at least, based on upgrade notifications from HA). I am using an Aeotec Zwave Stick. Rebooting HA does not change anything.

My existing Zwave devices are working just fine.

Anyone any idea? Thanks!

Have you tried restarting the Add-on? If the button is greyed out, it means it thinks it’s currently in the process of doing some other inclusion or exclusion operation. It shouldn’t happen, but maybe something got “stuck”. You’d have to go back and look at the driver debug logs to diagnose, which isn’t possible with the official add-on.

If you’d like to know what the driver thinks the current state is, you can download the integration diagnostics, via System → Devices & Services, find the Z-Wave JS integration, click the ... → “Download Diagnostics”. There will be a field named "inclusionState", any values besides 0 and 4 mean it’s busy and the Remove field is disabled.

Restarting it brought back the button, so perfect! Thanks!

Haven’t really tried it yet though, but will do so after work…
If no further messages, please consider it all working.

Thanks again!
