I really can’t believe that this is still an issue. Even if the only solution is ‘risky’ (e.g. editing system files) it should still be documented somewhere.
There are countless posts on here about this and some so old that they make no sense anymore.
Please can someone tell me the current way to do this as I have near duplicate entities that are causing me confusion.
I’d really like to rename the entities teckinplug0x to teckinplug_0x but I can’t unless I can delete the _0x ones first.
Spook has tools for removing “orphan” entities.
Thanks, I’ve only ever used Spook so far working in the background to tell me things rather than proactively to have it do things.

Done, but I have little confidence this will actioned.
It’s been asked for too many times.
I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that it is simply too complex, too risky or there is some other good technical reason they don’t want to because to my mind it is absurd that hey can’t be removed.
It could of course simply be that there is no one who knows how to do this that wants to make the change. (Perhaps for one or more of the above reasons). But that’s the nature of open source I guess.
