I’ve seen a few HA screenshots where the header only has the three lines for the menu and the views. Mine has that, but also has “Home Assistant” above those, which takes up quite a bit of screen real estate. I’ve dug through various config files, and can’t find how they removed that from the header. Could someone let me know how to do that? It will help tremendously with the display on the RPi touchscreen!
This gets asked a lot, most recently in this thread:
I believe the screen shots your seeing are just shots with the cards scrolled, which minimizes the header, or older versions before some of the UI and polymer library updates.
As I said in the thread above, the thing to do is to ask the owner of the repo or screen shot if they have a method and if they don’t, suggest that they update their screen shot and point them to this posting. It will help clear up a lot of confusion.
Thanks for the update! I’m not sure how I missed that other thread. I’ll look into how old the other screenshots are, and if the cards are higher than I’d expect (thus, minimizing the header)
Here’s the thing; I have never gotten an answer from any of the core devs or users with screen shots that I asked. So I’m stating this based on my experience and on my best guess in the absence of someone like @balloob @fabaff or @robbiet480 authoritatively saying otherwise. But I’ve never seen any hack to do it and couldn’t figure out how to do it by manipulating the CSS.
So if it’s out there, it’s a secret that a lot of folks would like to know. If any of us ever find out for sure, let’s post it to one of these threads.
There is no built in way to do this no.
Thanks man! That solves the mystery then.
