Reolink camera and HA

Hello everyone,

I’m fairly new to homeassistant, even if I looked around quite a bit before diving in.

I set up a homeassistant test server on a virtual box vm on windows. I can access it without problem.

I Bought an Argus track outdoor battery camera. I know it has’nt RTSP, so I know I won’t be able to access the video stream on HA, at least not easealy. I’m ok with that, I just want to have access to the light, siren, etc.

My camera is detected in the Reolink addon in HA. When I try to connect to it, with the correct login and IP adress, it doesn’t work. I tried, without port, with port 80 or 443, HTTP or HTTPS. Nothing seems to work.

Am I doing something wrong ? Or just because the camera doesn’t have RSTP HA can’t access it, even tough I’m not interested in the image stream right now ? If, I deeply regret my purchase…

You can buy the Home Hub and that has RTSP capabilities…

I precisely don’t need RSTP :). I don’t want to manage video stream on HA, I just want to have access to the accessories, i.e lamp, siren, etc. I don’t know if it’s possible, and I don’t know if that’s why i can’t connect to my camera with or if i’m doing something wrong.

I hope you did go through the documentation around password rules. There are restrictions to special characters.
