So, this is a weird issue and I’ve tried reaching out to reolink, but getting them to understand anything is impossible, all they want to do is copy and paste useless customer service scripts like “power cycle your router”. IDK if anyone on these forums has an email to someone with half a brain at reolink, but its worth a shot.
Every Sunday morning at 2 AM, I have the reolink reboot itself and every Sunday morning I get up just to find out the camera is down due to a reolink firmware issue.
Whenever the reolink camera is rebooted using the scheduled maintenance reboot, it seems to do some sort of soft reboot that borks its internal clock or something. RTSP describes start to fail with 404 and go2rtc is screaming about a non-monotonic DTC. The RTSP protocol goes haywire and refuses to work. It seems the flv or whatever stream reolink uses in its internal stream viewer still works as when I navigate to the cameras HTTP webpage and login, I can still view a perfectly functioning live stream, but RTSP is broken until I either do a power removal (pull PoE cable), or use the manual reboot button in its HTTP page.
So from my point of view, it seems the scheduled maintenance reboot is some sort of software reboot that causes a hanging RTSP interface and an actual power off/on or hard reboot gets everything working.
I dont expect this to go anywhere, more of a PSA for people and maybe if one of the reolink devs browses the forums, it’ll get fixed sometime.
