I have the reolink E1 installed and running with Home assistant. I’ve noticed like alot of posts around the internet that this camera suffers from losing its monitor point and randomly faces the wall then wont turn back unless manually twisted. This is apparently a problem with the mechanical gear setup inside the unit which effectively makes the tracking option of the camera pointless (which is a shame cause thats why i bought it) . Anyway, reolink know about it but have no solution so gave me a $10 refund.
So my question is… has anyone come up with some cunning solution for this using home assistant ? not sure if its possible but something like have home assistant do the tracking or have home assistant prevent it from spinning to the wall by somehow magically sensing when it’s close to facing backwards and have home assistant stop the ptz etc
