Warning: I’m more of a casual pedestrian than a seasoned software engineer. The following project was largely vibe-coded over many evenings with the help of ChatGPT (GPT-6), with me providing the ideas, requirements, and occasional reality checks. It’s running happily in my own Home Assistant setup and has been working great so far—so I figured I’d share it with the community.
Hi everyone!
I’ve built a Home Assistant Blueprint to capture Reolink camera events and send snapshots or videos to Immich and/or ntfy.
The main motivation: Home Assistant’s native camera.record occasionally struggles with Reolink Clear streams, and simultaneous recordings can be problematic. So I took matters into my own hands.
Features
-
Event-based automations: One Blueprint, multiple independent camera events
-
Parallel recordings: Independent FFmpeg recording processes, even from the same camera
-
Immich: Upload snapshots or original-quality videos directly to albums using the Immich integration
-
ntfy notifications: Instant snapshots or short videos with audio
-
Flexible streams: Choose Clear or Fluent independently for ntfy and Immich
-
Dual-lens support: Select wide-angle or telephoto lenses
-
Automatic cleanup: Optional deletion of successfully processed files
-
Debugging & error handling: Home Assistant traces and persistent error notifications
The project runs successfully on my own setup, so I thought I’d share it with the community.

Installation instructions and all required scripts are included in the repository. Please note that the Blueprint requires a few additional Python scripts and Home Assistant packages.
Feedback is welcome! That said, my free time is quite limited at the moment, so my main goal was simply to share a solution that works well for me, in the hope that others might find it useful too.
