I installed a POE Reolink doorbell chime, it’s on the latest firmware direct from their support team. It has two chimes, both are paired and both ‘ring’ when I go into the app and press test. I have unpaired and re-paired the chimes and the issue remains.
Ever since I setup go2rtc and got 2 way audio working through the webrtc lovelace card the chimes don’t work anymore.
I noticed the blue light on the camera is now always on, which sort of makes me think the doorbell is being triggered all the time and that is why the doorbell won’t ring when the button is pressed on the actual device. Perhaps by default they don’t ring if you’re ‘talking’ to the person at the door.
Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas for how I can work around it?
The Reolink app Window is overlaid on top of the HA Window. and kept in place using a Pin app. I just have to double-click on the doorbell cam frame expand the immage and speak/listen.
It’s a dirt simple solution, but it requires some planning in how you organize your HA cards. As you can see, there’s the illusion of a Reolink integration without actually using one.
Besides the problem you described, I also found that latency and fluctuations in the HA RTSP streams caused unacceptable delays and stuttering. With the native app there’s none of that.
