Replace google foto with Home Assistant and synology photo share

Hi,

I want to get ride of as many big tech products as i can to become mostly self sufficient.
I have synology NAS with photo installed on it and the images are also available true a shared folder which i can see in my HA media browser.
What i want to do is to replace the google nest hub screensaver (google foto) with the synology photo stream. I found multiple threats on this topic but no real answer. Does anyone have an answer for this?

I think you can set up a shared folder on the Synology NAS. Details in the bit about backups in the Synology docs.

@RedKing , thanks! i have a shared folder and can access the photo’s from this location in de media section of home assistant. The issue is that i want to show these foto’s in a slide show on my google nest hub. Do you have an idea how that could work?
