I have two Shelly Plugs and one of them has stopped working properly (it won’t turn off correctly - it accepts the command and switches its relay but the power doesn’t get removed from the outlet)
The second plug is really only used to monitor the power consumption (it actually powers my server that includes the Home assistant VM) so I had the bright idea just just change the IP addresses of each plug and swap them round, but I then realised that the Home Assistant config also knows the MAC address and so won’t accept a new device with the same IP address.
What’s the simplest way to accomplish this?
I will be getting a new plug anyway but the device is included in numerous automations, is it justy a case of renaming the old device and adding the new device in with the same name as the old one?
I’d prefer to keep the same IP, can I delete the old device without losing the associated power consumption figures and automations and again just add the new device back in with the same ID?
