Replacing ZigBee gateway

I have a few Wifi power plugs that I currently control with the “Smart Life” app via a smart gateway (probably Tuya, models says JMWZG1). Recently I installed HA and obviously want to integrate them. I read about it a bit, and it seems with the gateway it’s not possible, I should get a Sonoff ZBDongle. From what I have seen, that communicates over a serial USB port with HA, however my HA Pi is in the basement, and the power plugs are a floor above, probably bad connection. I there anything I could use instead (maybe also wired network, but no PoE available), or is that the best solution and I should relocate my HA-Pi?

You cannot use a Zigbee coordinator to control Wifi devices. The only reason the Tuya smart gateway works is that is supports both Wifi & Zigbee devices.

If you want to integrate them in HA and you’re 100% sure they’re not supported via the Tuya / LocalTuya integrations, then your only remaining option is to flash them to ESPHome or OpenBeken (or similar)
