[REQUEST] Binary Sensor for Website Availability Tests (website down or up sensors)?

I have a feature request for Home Assistant to provide state for Website Availability Tests (website down or up sensor), maybe like Binary Sensors?

Would be very nice if Home Assistant could tell the state of a Website (HTTP server) to tell if a web-site/web-page is on down or up for everyone using a distributed method.

That is, not just tell if a website reachable from my specific setup but really an external distributed check if it is online and available to everyone else too or not.

There are several online services that can run external distributed checks if a website is down for everyone or just not accessible to me, such services as:

http://currentlydown.com
https://downdetector.com/
https://www.uptrends.com/tools/uptime

It’s already available https://www.home-assistant.io/components/binary_sensor.uptimerobot/.

I realise this is an old post but I just wanted to offer my opinion.

While the uptime robot integration is great it only offers the ability to monitor individual websites and not actual services offered by companies. For example I don’t want to know if the Virgin Media website is down but I do want to know if the broadband they provide is affected.

Services such as Downdetector (https://downdetector.com) offer this and they do offer an api but I believe its a pay for service. I will investigate further.
