It would be handy to be able to control all lights that emulated hue exposes simply through the hue mobile app, instead of requiring a voce controlled hub.
Reasoning for this request is that I have a large portion of my light bulbs (GE Link bulbs) that connect just fine to a physical hue hub, but I have another handful of Osram Lightify bulbs that do not connect. This small handful currently connects to HA through MQTT/SmartThings, but I will shortly be moving them straight to HA with a zigbee USB stick. Ultimately, I would move all lights directly to HA if I could control them all through the hue app with the emulated hue component.
I’m using HA for automation and a dashboard for all devices, but still prefer to use the hue app for simple control (excellent Wife-Acceptance-Factor) of manually controlling lights, for example when going to sleep.
Currently, the hue app doesn’t even detect the emulated hue when searching for it. When I try a third party app such as HueManic, it detects the emulated hue, but throws a “bridge not responding” error when trying to connect to it.
It would be extremely handy if the emulated hue were able to be used in this way. It would only enhance and supplement the current usage benefits of the emlated hue component.
Thanks
