Reset my router

Hi.
yesterday i call my internet provider for problems i had with the speed. after he try a few thing, he reset my router (witch they gave me).
all my setting inside the router gone and i the pain tasking of finding all the Static IP and Port forward and ext.
Is there away to manege this problem, like having a sub router?
whats the way to overcame this problem ?
and how hard will it be setup it

Well. It’s a free router from your ISP - Of cause they lack of everything.
I set the ISP router to Single User mode (SU mode) and got myself an Ubiquiti ER-X and a UAP-AC-LITE also from Ubiquiti and live happily since then.
The ER-X uses pppoe to get internet from my old router.

Buy raspberry pi

Install pihole

Use it’s DHCP capabilies to give out IP addresses etc.

Get bonus of internal DNS working, ie you can refer to your devices by name instead of IP address.

Like others have suggested, having your own router is likely the best solution.

However, does manually rebooting (not resetting) the router fix the speed issues you were having? If it does, you could always buy a smart switch and plug your router into that. You could then use that to turn off power to the router, wait 5-10 seconds, then turn it back on.
