I need to clear my sonoff zigbee dongle and make a new zigbee2mqtt binding. However, I have not found any information on how to do this? I see from some google searches that it has a reset button, but it does nothing? Has anyone cleared their dongle yet and have any tips?
Sonoff Dongle E CH9102
I don’t exactly understand the problem. You can always flash new firmware.
I flashed it, but after flashing it does not go into pairing mode and just lights up green.
For flashing I used this link Silabs Firmware Flasher | Web based flasher for ZB-GW04 and ZBDongle-E. MultiPAN RCP firmware enables these devices to be used with Silabs Multiprotocol Addon in Home Assistant. Allow Zigbee and Thread to co-exist on the same dongle. Get ahead of the tech an experiment with Matter!
I took the firmware from here Sonoff_Zigbee_Dongle_Firmware/Dongle-E/Router at master · itead/Sonoff_Zigbee_Dongle_Firmware · GitHub
Aha, you want to use the router firmware. You need to press one of the buttons.
Yes.
But I have already reflashed it to router mode using the pressed button. After flashing, my NA tried to connect the device, but something went wrong.
Now the Dongle is constantly green.
Flashing to coordinator mode and back to router mode does not give anything. The device does not go into pairing.
I press the reset button when connecting the power, or after connecting the power, but the situation does not change.
It seems to me that the reset button there simply does not work properly.
To reset the Sonoff Dongle-E in router mode, follow these steps:
Disassemble the device
Re-attach the antenna (to avoid burnout)
Provide power to the device.
Permit join (allow pairing) to Coordinator
Press the boot button for about 5 seconds (green LED might not flash)
Monitor device becoming available
Power down device, remove antenna
Re-assemble device and attach antenna
Place router to it’s designed location
Device updates it’s status (last seen) in every 4 hours.
I followed the steps before connecting to z2m,
Disassemble the device
Re-attach the antenna (to avoid burnout)
Provide power to the device.
Permit join (allow pairing) to Coordinator
Press the boot button for about 5 seconds (green LED might not flash)
Did I understand correctly that I need to wait 4 hours with the power on even if the router does not appear in the list now?
It should appear immediately in the list if pairing was successful.
I apologize very much for my inattention!.
I’m just blind, I clicked on reset instead of boot.
I carefully read what you wrote again, clicked the right button. and everything worked.
Thank you very much!!!
I was looking for a solution to my problem for more than a month, I didn’t want to write here so as not to bother people with trifles, but I had to, and it bore fruit.
Once again, thank you very much!!!
