Took me a while to figure this out, and it seems different than the documentation, so I thought I’d share my experience moving leviton wall switches from wink to home assistant.
First, remove from wink. Following the in-app instructions in wink on my Android phone worked flawlessly.
Then, reset the device:
1 - Press the top of the paddle switch until it clicks and hold for at least 7 seconds, then release.
2 - Press the bottom of the paddle switch until it turns a solid amber, then blinks red once. Then, release.
Now your device is reset once you see the single red blink.
Add it to home assistant by:
Press up on the paddle and hold for about 7 seconds
Press up on the paddle once for a short period.
Press down on the paddle until it turns solid amber. (~5-7 seconds)
In the ZWave configuration area of your Home Assistant application, click “Add Node”
Within a few seconds, the device should display in the list of nodes.
Give it a half minute or so, then click Heal on the zwave network configuration
Occasionally I’ve had to restart Home Assistant.
Now, go through and rename your node and entities.
This process is the exact same for the dimmer paddle switches.
If you excluded it from the Wink, then all you would need to do is follow the Inclusion process to install it to HA.
You would have to follow your process if you didn’t do the latter and just delete the node from Wink. I just made this move from Wink to HA and found it best to exclude the device from Wink first rather then just deleting the node out of Wink.
I agree that’s what makes sense and should have to be done, nonetheless, this is the process I followed that worked for me. I think I had issues getting them to reconnect. So, I just completely reset them. Now I know they are all configured exactly the same.
Something else I noticed is that the three way dimmers were selective about which ones could be used to add it. Only one could be added, and I think it was the slave of the two.
Noob here… I could use some help with understanding my Z-Wave network…
First, THANKS, Nate1865, for posting the correct instructions for resetting and pairing the Leviton DZS15 switch. Was pulling my hair out trying to get the process outlined in the instructions to work.
Second, can anyone explain what I’m seeing, now that I have the switch working… When it paired, HA paired it as 3 devices and 4 entities. When I trip the switch, only one of the entities changes state. Any thoughts as to what’s happening?
Third. in my repeated attempts to get the switch to pair, before I found Nate1865’s instructions, I apparently caused some trash to accumulate. There are now two dead entities in the Z-Wave integration. HA will not let me remove them. When I try, I receive the following message: “You can only remove 0 of the selected 2 entities. Entities can only be removed when the integration is no longer providing the entities. Sometimes you have to restart Home Assistant before you can remove the entities of a removed integration. Are you sure you want to remove the removable entities?” How do I take out the trash?
