ResinOS Update available

Says 1.1 is installed and 1.2 is available, click on update or even try command line command (responds OK) but does nothing and resinOS is not updated?

How do I get this to update?

Looks like a few people are having issues after the 1.2 update so you might want to hold fire for the moment anyway.

Maybe. Doesnā€™t explain why it wonā€™t update though.

Just restarted the Pi and it now says version 1.3 is available?

So now itā€™s showing 1.3 installed (I clicked update). So it wouldnā€™t update to 1.2 but itā€™s good now.

Hmm Iā€™ve tried twice now to update to 1.3 and itā€™s not happening. Iā€™ve even tried rebooting and trying again.

Hmm seems to have finally worked after a few reboots!

Yes! Had money on you updating despite warnings to the contrary

Has someone made a automation for notifying when a new version of ResinOS and the Supervisor is available?

FYI 1.2 broke the Pi-hole add-on, so youā€™ll want to go to 1.3 where it was fixed.

@DavidFW1960 did you do anything special to get it to update, or it just worked after a reboot and 1.3 showed up?

I canā€™t seem to get it to update from 1.1 still, and also having issues updating ha to 0.64.3

via ssh, I get an ā€œokā€ first, but if I run it again I get an error:

Same after restart host, supervisor or home assistantā€¦ Anyone have any ideas?

I just clicked on update and it seemed to do nothing but about an hour later I looked in the log and saw it was updated. I donā€™t even think it rebooted.

So? Iā€™m allowed!

You are indeedā€¦ and so very predictable with it :+1:

Glad it worked ok for you.

It was low risk as Iā€™m not using the Pihole or other addons 1 person was having difficulties with. I could always plug in my USB and restore a snapshot anyway. Besides until we reach version 1, they are all somewhat risky being beta software. It wouldnā€™t be the end of the world if I crashed it.

Living on the edgeā€¦ hahaha

Just incase someone hits the same issue, it seems my problem was Iā€™d run out of space on my pi. My home assistant db had grown to over 5GB, plus I had a bunch of snapshots and other things on there. Purge didnā€™t seem to be working on my db (again down to insufficient space), so I just deleted it and cleaned up some other bits, and then I was able to update without issues.

Hi, my Hassio says me there is a new version 1.3ā€¦ but if I click on UPDATE but nothing happens

Same hereā€¦ 1.1 installed, 1.3 available, but update does not work.

Same: clicking ā€˜updateā€™ generates a mention in the log file:

> 18-03-26 01:36:26 INFO (MainThread) [hassio.misc.host_control] Send 'update 1.3' to HostControl.
> 18-03-26 01:36:30 INFO (MainThread) [hassio.misc.host_control] Receive from HostControl: OK.

But nothing is happening. Tried it a few times now, rebooted several times but no kebab.

just waitā€¦ it takes a while. Just click and go away for a bit.

Iā€™ve been awayā€¦ several hours but nothing has happened. And apparently there is three of us now, for whom itā€™s not workingā€¦

Edit: ouch you were right  it has updated after about 20 minutes of leaving it untouched.
