Resize Resin partition

Moved over to Hassio from Hassbian recently and run off USB on a Pi3. I followed this guide to install and modify files using Gparted before installing Hassio.

Issue I have now is a lack of free space on the drive which is a 16GB flash drive. I have my recorder to purge after a day and the db2 file is under 100mb at all times but I only have around 1GB or less. I have a few Add-ons installed but last night I needed to unistall some so that I could update to the latest release.

I expanded the drive post install to increase the resin-data partion up from 4GB to around 9GB but the extra free space is not being seen.

Is there a way to expand the Resin data partition to get this extra space available or do I need to start over again and set a larger partition before running the Hassio install and restoring from backup?
