Response time (latency) for the "Tuya" components is too long

Hi guys,

The response time for the “Tuya” components (like SESOO Touch Wi-Fi Switch) in HA is quiet long (5-10 seconds),
Compere to when using Tuya APP which its working immediately.

I’m using Home Assistant (Hassio)
Ubuntu 18.04.3 on NUC i5 intel wired through LAN connection.

There is something can I check or do to reduce it ?
There is any profiling tool/check that I can try ?

Thanks,
Alex.

You can flash the devices with alternative firmware that allows local control rather than cloud. Look up Tuya convert.

tuya-convert should fix that.

Ha, @tom_l beat ne to it!

Thanks
Could you please point to a good tutorial ?

Thanks,
But why it working great with the Tuya app and with latency for HA ?

There is at least two other threads and a bug report for this it started in 0.106. I don’t want to reflash because the native stuff integrates with Google home and I don’t have time to redo my setup right now. I’m at 0.105.5 until it’s fixed.

I’m at 106.6

Thanks.
I’ll look into it.
Do you know if it’s work fine with a Sesoo wifi switch lights ?

Not sure sorry but I would say if it doesn’t go through tuya it might be ok. But there were some reports of delays using the logitech harmony remote so I’m not sure it’s just tuya.

I wrote a tutorial for Tuya-convert recently, I also have quite a number of Tasmota related tutorials :grinning:

Thanks @Siytek

Great tutorial !
It helped me a lot !

No problem and glad it helped! :grinning:
