Rest command error - not authorized

Hi,

I am trying a rest command to control the position of an Amcrest camera. I am getting the following error in the log which means not authorized

2017-08-28 17:38:59 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.rest_command] Error 401 on call http://admin:[email protected]/cgi-bin/ptz.cgi?action=start&channel=0&code=GotoPreset&arg1=0&arg2=1&arg3=0

If I cut and paste the command into chrome it works. Does anyone have any ideas?

Did you figure it out? I’m having the same issue with Dahua cam’s and the rest_command.

I had the same error while trying to use rest_command.

I ended up using shell_command and curl. Thanks to this thread Command line - amcrest camera help

absolutelly same - Dahua camera doesn’t work with REST, every time - ERORR 401
