Restore from full backup does nothing?

Hi, probably a stupid user error on my part: I’ve done a full backup on machine A (generic x86_64), copied it to my laptop, booted machine B (also generic x86_64 machine) waited it to boot, and accessed the first configuration web assistant.

Then there is the “Alternatively you can restore from a previous backup.” link at the bottom, which I clicked. It asks me to upload the backup, what seems to work flawlessly, the name of the backup is correctly shown, and I am asked if I want to do a full or partial restore, and that a full restore will wipe the disk.

I choose full restore, but then I see no progress of restoration, but I am thrown to the first page with adding a user login/restoring backup dialog again.

I do not see anything happening on the console/screen of the machine either.

Any idea what could be happening there?

Thanks in advance,
Ralph

Sorry for the noise, it seems that the restore has actually worked, there just was no feedback of any kind. Is this to be expected?

Yep. It is. I think someone has a feature request out here somewhere to add feedback to that.

Thanks a lot, Nathan! If it was not a test restore, but an actually broken system, I would probably have panicked by that point
