I installed HA core in a Debian LXC on proxmox and it’s running fine.
Backup
I use the backup integration to create a nightly backup. Check.
Restore
The backup integration says “This backup file can be used if you migrate to Home Assistant Operating System.”
Question
I’m pretty sure that this backup file can be used for more than just that and I’ve even come across a guide detailing how to use it to restore an installation.
- So if it is possible to actually restore HA core that way, why isn’t it there an official documentation?
- Is there something I’m missing and the aforementioned method could lead to unpredictable things?
- Or is it rather that the HA team assumes that if you went with HA core in the first place, then you should know what you’re doing anyway (which I’m totally fine with)?
