Restoring a backup to a new Home Assistant Green

Hello,

I’ve been using Home Assistant, installed on a Home Assistant Green, for a couple of months now and all has been working well.

Last week, there was a water leak and my Home Assistant Green was one of the casualties, so I bought a new one which I am about to install. I also have a subscription to Nabu Casa and there is a recent back on my account.

Before setting up the new Home Assistant, is there anything I should know about and/or do to restore the previous backup on my new Home Assistant? I am assuming (hoping) this is possible and easy to do.

p.s. I am definitely getting water sensors and the valve switch to automatically close my water main. That’s for a different post.

it is very straight forward, during the onboarding, there is a link/button to restore from backup, just click then follow the directions.

unless you have a local unencrypted backup, you will need the encryption key, the link above can provide further info.
