Restoring Snapshot during Onboarding is...not clear?

So I’ve managed to fire up Proxmox and HA using that fancy script which just saved me hours of brainache (thank you!).

Now, at the onboarding screen, there’s a link for restoring a previous snapshot.

“How convenient!” I exclaimed.

Then I uploaded my snapshot and restored all, but right after restoring, the screen sorta just blinks and the onboarding welcome form remains.

A quick CMD-R reloads the page resulting in ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED on the URL: http://192.168.1.101:8123/onboarding.html

If I remove the /onboarding.html and refresh, I get ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.

Where did HA go at this point? I’m unable to load it via the VM’s ip address.

I’ve tried both 443 and 80 at https://192.168.1.101:8123/lovelace/default_view and http://192.168.1.101:8123/lovelace/default_view.

I’ve tried the previous Ubuntu 20.04 configuration’s address which is a proxy in apache from my other server to this one which is:

https://hassio.jongriffith.com:8123/

All this produces is the HA logo and a Retry link after a twirling loading spinner.

How do I get to HA?

Same thing happens to me. I’ve run the onboarding-page restoration process three times now, most recently leaving it overnight, and it never comes back. Downloaded image from site yesterday, using a Feb 20 backup from a flaky but up-to-date installation. Raspberry Pi 3 B+.

Incidentally, the flakiness that made me reinstall and start over was that every time my RPi rebooted, HA would lose everything and take me to the onboarding screen. Fortunately all the backups were still on the device, but it’s obviously a pain in the neck to have to restore the entire system (losing anything since the last backup) any time my RPi gets bumped or the house power gets interrupted. Others on the forum have reported this behavior, but I haven’t found anyone with a resolution (nor was the interrupted-setup theory valid for my instance).
