Revamped Lovelace Screens [Updated 15/5/19]

What kind of insights would you expect to gain by doing this? Interested is all

Not much, just ā€˜the time that it takes HA to initialiseā€™
Seriously though, youā€™re right it isnā€™t particularly useful but you know what weā€™re likeā€¦
Look! Thereā€™s some data! Letā€™s record it.

Iā€™d like to have the total restart time but have no idea how to get it (I donā€™t use Node Red)

If you wanā€™t access to data that was once not deemed possible move your butt over to Node-RED and you wonā€™t look back

Your sneak peaks was awesome

For the first row (HA Server info), how do you combine all these cards into one card without any separation between each card / entity??? Because, Vertical & Horizontal Stack always make me a space:
Capture
Edit: Do you use ā€œPicture Elements Cardā€ with lot of CSS style?

Also, Iā€™m curious to see how you do to get all these nice update cards

sorry for my poor English  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Iā€™m using the custom:stack-in-card to achieve this look with a bunch of css to move their positions within the card.

Hey Jim, kudos and congrats on this advanced and extremely detailed setup, itā€™s amazing the amount of information you can gather.
Is there somewhere I can read about your presence detection systems? Iā€™m curious how HA can tell whoā€™s in the bathroom

Hi @jimpower

Fellow Aussie here and just stumbled upon your workā€¦ Fantastic. I have been going through your repo for 2 days, getting my own ideas.

What makes your stuff even more appealing is that you have some devices I have that I have been struggling with (although, I have only been dabbling in HA for a few months and Iā€™m trying to do everything instantly).

So, I thought I would start off with the basics of getting the Midnight theme installed from your repo, and it works about 90% but I have two issues that Im sure I have simply missed.

  1. The theme installs fine, but the sidebar (on the left) is all white. IE: All the icons like config, developer, nodered, etc are white until I select one. It seems the background colour didnt get applied when using the theme. Any ideas?
  2. The background ā€œbrushed aluminiumā€ look (looking more closely, made wood texture). Is that part of the theme as I didnā€™t see any reference to that in the yaml file. Do you just add it as a lovelace-background?

Thanks,
Rob

All good. I worked it outā€¦

  1. Installed the original Midnight theme and that fixed all.
  2. Worked out how to do that. I had the command in the wrong place in the yaml. I didnt realise it had to be placed in each ā€œviewā€.

Thanks,
Rob

@jimpower I love this config but I was wondering if you are still using it/have updated it at all? Iā€™ve looked at your github but looks like itā€™s all outdated and I canā€™t seem to get it working at all. thanks for sharing this and this is the best looking dashboard/setup Iā€™ve seen yet!

hi james,
is that F531 nespresso machine on screenshot? how did you manage it to control?
i have the sameā€¦
