Following the debacle of not being able to see how the GUI-installed MQTT Integration was configured: See https://community.home-assistant.io/t/how-do-i-view-change-the-config-of-the-mqtt-integration/207212 I have deleted the GUI-installed integration and reverted to manual configuration.
I’m strongly considering doing the same for the other GUI-installed integrations that don’t expose their configuration through the GUI.
I am disappointed to have been driven to do this, but I find that I cannot support the current direction being taken by the core team of moving to GUI-installed integrations without simultaneously requiring those integrations to permit configuration via the GUI. I know “it’s coming”, but it really should have been there at the same time.
With this, and the similar chaos surrounding Z-Wave support, I am starting to reconsider whether HA will ever be a stable “product”, whether it will ever get out of beta, whether it will ever be more than a techie-tinker-toy.
