Hey all,
So I followed Bruh’s youtube video on hooking up the generic RF transmitter and receiver to my RP3.
I have been able to receive signals fine. I can even transmit signals.
However, the codes being sent are not what I have in my configuration.yaml.
If I open two Putty terminals and run one as a receiver window, and one as the transmitter, I can send codes and receive codes. Some simple codes work, ie 12345678. However, if the code is longer than that, or more complicated, the transmitter sends a random code.
I’m at my wits end now. Can anyone help me please?
Thank you.
So I’ve been testing it with some generic wall plugs. Rpi rf is seeing codes, but it’s sensing out the wrong code. Would this be because of the cheap rx/tx modules I’m using?
However, the main thing I want it to work with is this:
I have it wired it and working with my projector screen.
The remote works. However, the rpi rf setup is not seeing any codes from this remote at all.
How did you capture the longer ones to know they are the correct codes to resend?
I’ve been struggling with a couple of ceiling fan remotes that I can’t get anything except the RM pro to capture. The issue is that all the rf stuff I’ve tried so far even the rpi-rf in BRUHs video won’t read them.
I’m working on trying pilight next but I need an arduino for that. Its in the mail.
I then also tried Hassbian on a seperate microsd card, following bruhs instructions.
Both ways show me the same captured code using putty. But when I put these codes in my configuration.yaml, I keep getting the same incorrect codes sent out.
If I try shorter codes (less than 8 characters), the correct code is sent.
However, I still can’t read any codes from the motor controller.
For simplicity’s sake, I ordered an rm pro yesterday.
I’d much prefer a harmony remote (to also control my nvidia shield g2) but this will do for now.
The sonoff bridge looks like a really good option, especially because it can use the rf signals as inputs too, but I am yet to venture into flashing sonoff and MQTT. And right now I don’t really have a need for RF input triggers.
