I’m sure I’m not the only one facing the following problem:
I have my RFXcom connected to a USB port but every time the system reboots I have to keep my fingers crossed because there is a chance that the RFXcom is suddenly linked to a different usb-port causing the sensors and switches connected via RFXcom to stop working. This makes a number of projects not work properly.
I have to reboot my system regularly if only because of new releases.
I am sure someone has recognized and solved this problem as well. I thought I had solved it myself once on a Home Assistant installation for someone, but I can’t find the solution anymore.
I have the same problem, but I think this has something to do with a breaking change in the hardware area with the latest beta release.
Version core-2021.2.0b2
Version supervisor-2021.02.0
What version are you running?
My RFCcom is dead and I can not change the port anywhere! (not possible in the integration UI)
I added the ‘device’ in the configuration.yaml, hoping this would overwrite the old USB port somewhere.
rfxtrx:
device: /dev/ttyUSB0
But no luck…
The old USB port was a unique (persistent) label.
I don’t want to remove the integration since it will be a lot of work to re-add all the stuff again.
I’m running core-2021.2.1 on a raspberry Pi 4+.
What I did is going to the supervisor page. Hit on the system tab and then clicked on the 3 dots on the right. That gave me the address of the USB-port of the RFXcom (you get something like - /dev/serial/by-id/usb-RFXCOM_RFXtrx433_A1…). I used that in Node_red to configure RFXfan. The strange thing is that that does work. Even if all of the switches configured by the HA integration RFXcom sometimes don’t work.
By the way. At the moment everything works, but I know with every restart I keep my fingers crossed.
At the moment I have more problems with my Foscam camera’s. Foscam has also been moved from the yaml to integration. But now I’m without camera’s. I can’t add them anymore due to an ‘unexpected error’
