I have problems with my RFXCOM device. It will work for anythin between 2 hours and 30 minutes. Then it seems to die. I have logged the output and it is as expected.
Then suddenly there will be no more log lines and no more reception from the device. I restart the HA service or reboot and it’s back up for a while and then again die…

In most cases this is a frozen FTDI USB interface due to power spikes.
Solutions can be:
move the USB cable away from power cables,
use a quality power supply on the system (if it has a power adapter),
connect the RFXtrx433E to a powered USB hub using a quality power supply,
connect the RFXtrx433E to a RaspberryPI using a quality power supply and install ser2net to connect the RFXtrx over LAN.

Thanks for the tips.
I might mention that lights and switches never fails. Using the same RFXCOM device.
Please check if the RFXtrx433E receives normal with RFXmngr on a Windows system.
This is an issue with the overhauled driver. It is an issue on github.com https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant/issues/10464 I have manually reverted the rfx changes as mentioned in the issue. It keeps on working after that.

Thanks again for your help.
I have used the RFXCOM on DomotiGa for over 2 years without problems. I just downgradet HA to v0.55 as suggested here https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant/issues/10464
I’ll be away for 14 days from tomorrow, so I hope this will fix it for now.

Reverted to HA version 0.55 and it seems to work fine now.
