RFXCOM possibly broken - replacement needed?

Since 2 days, my RFXCOM isnt being recognized by HA. It is seen in hardware but the initialising error is:

Logger: homeassistant.components.rfxtrx
Source: components/rfxtrx/init.py:94
Integration: RFXCOM RFXtrx (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 15:57:18 (2 occurrences)
Last logged: 16:06:48

Connection timeout: failed to receive response from RFXtrx device

with full log:

2022-11-30 16:06:48.484 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.rfxtrx] Connection timeout: failed to receive response from RFXtrx device

Ive been able to roll back and get it working again, after i upgrade again, and got this error.
On version:

Home Assistant 2022.11.5
Supervisor 2022.11.2
Operating System 9.3
Frontend-versie: 20221108.0 - latest

Im not sure if this RFXtrx is going to survice, but im pretty relient on it, as i have 24 devices being managed by it.
Does anyone know if alternative are capable of replacing the RFXCOM?
Does anyone have an idea how to fix the issue, im lost and cant find any resource that seems to be relevant.

Thanks in advance!!

Just to rule out the obvious: did you try to replace the USB cable and/or plug it into another USB port of your hass hardware? If your hardware is a Raspberry Pi: check the syslog for undervoltage related messages. The Rfxcom is USB powered, if there’s something wrong with the Pi power supply, it could cause this kind of issues. Try another power supply.

If that is OK, try to connect the RFXcom to a Windows host and run the RFXmngr application available from their Downloads page. You could even try to reflash the Rfxcom (see User Guide what firmware you need).

I’ve never had to use it, but I’ve read that RFXcom support through the “Contact” page is very helpful.

I have the same problem

I was desparate and at the end ready to dump the device.

I eventually spun up a win10 vm on proxmox and had the device be updated with the most recent firmware and that fixed everything.

I do have some issues with sensor not bringing in data. But all in all i can switch most of the devices again.

So, update firmware was fix

Good to hear you got it fixed.

If not all sensors are visible, the most probable cause is that you didn’t enable the correct protocols (see User Guide available from the Downloads page for more information).
