RFXCOM - Range issue - SOLVED

Hi Everyone,

I’ve just made the switch from Domoticz to HA and am loving it so far! I do have a minor issue with range for my RFXCOM hardware and am wondering if anyone can give me some guidance.

I have two devices (a temp sensor, and a switch) located two floors down that are unable to communicate with HA. Both devices work absolutely fine with Domoticz using the same hardware (Raspberry PI3 + RFXtrx433E), if I just swap out the SD card and run Domoticz everything works fine, while with HA, the two devices drop out.

I came across a similar discussion where there were recommendations of using a powered USB hub, which I’ve ordered, however this was not confirmed as having resolved the issue. I was wondering in the meantime if anyone has other advice.

Issue resolved. I upgraded my transceiver from an RFXtrx433E to an RFX433XL-USB and that seems to have solved the problem. The unit is coupled with an external antenna which was also used on the previous set up. This has been running for a couple of weeks and am communicating with all my sensors and switches without any issues.
