I’m looking for people who want to think along and contribute to a project to integrate Rhasspy and Google in Home Asssitant. I can’t program well enough myself to build it but what I would like is this:
Rhasspy offers the possibility to do on a local server what you can do with the Google Home (mini). Namely have commands executed by saying something. Google Home works much better but the disadvantage is that Google can listen in on everything you do in the house.
Rhasspy doesn’t know that problem because it runs on your local server. However, it has the disadvantage that it is quite limited and you have to write out every question yourself first with an intent in HA.
The TTS of Rhasspy is also quite limited.
I’ve already solved that by leaving the answering of questions to GoogleTranslate_say and sending it to the mediaplayer. That works perfectly.
But what I would like to do in this project is to ask Rhasspy (locally) the question, which will then be forwarded to Google Home, which will then also provide the answer. Simple and only because Google Home also often has an answer to questions you haven’t programmed in advance. So Google only listens if you want to.
Who will like to join in?
