is it posible to add sensor to check if the ring doorbell is hardwire or not charging for the ring integration ?
There is a sensor.battery entity displayed as a percentage; therefore, you can determine if it is charging (battery level is increasing over time) or not (battery level decreasing).
In my experience (I have 2 units), if the outside temperature is below about 20F, it’s not charging. It’s trying to charge, but it’s not.
In my case I use a thermometer to see if it’s charging.
But don’t worry, the $60 bill gets there on time every year…
The reason for my request is when the battery sensor changes from “wired” to “battery” or something like that, then I will receive a notification that there is a “power outage” at home and when it returns to “wired”, I will also receive a notification that the “power is back”
I don’t think you will detect the power outage notification unless the wifi, router, and Home Assistant are on a UPS.
