Ring camera motion / person detection

Hi all. I have A ring outdoor camera, works great. I have it integrated directly (and also via MQTT, had some more options) I have an automation set to cast the latest snapshot taken (it’s a short 5 second video that is saved, which you can then look at when clicking on the entity)
the automation works great, When a person walks in the predefined “zone” it casts to my google home display. BUT this automation works on “motion” detection in the camera and I have no way to detect “person” detection from within home assistant.
so it also displays the last taken “snapshot” which was when a person was detected (and this could be frightening, to see yourself at the front door when you’re having diner.)

anyone found a solution to this, exept for installing Facebox in a docker (because I have Home Assistant OS installed, not supervised, so I have to reinstall to reach this out, and I’m a bit too afraid.

anyone an idea?

best regards,
Tom

I’m not a fan of trying to do everything on on your smart home controller. Separation of functions is my recommended approach. I set up a separate device for video processing. Here’s a link to the approach I use.
