I setup a Ring camera to watch over my garden and was wanting to rig up an automation to take periodic snapshots from the camera that I could use to make time lapse videos to see how the garden is growing over time. The existing snapshot function for the Ring cameras only grabs the first frame from the last recording but the Ring library has a method to send a request to the camera to update the live snapshot then it grabs the image after a short delay. I’ve been trying to figure out how to write this in as a service for the Ring integration but I’m still new to the structure of HA integrations and I haven’t found a comparable camera integration that has this feature to copy the flow from over to the Ring integration.
