Ring Motion Sensor is Always On

I’m running Home Assistant 0.50.2 (under hass.io if that makes a difference) and struggling to get my Ring door bell working correctly. The sensors all seem OK, i.e. the battery level and last activity/motion/ding all show the expected values. The motion binary_sensor, however, is where the problem lies. It always shows motion, even though that’s plainly not the case. Right now, for example, the last_motion sensor shows a value about 12 hours ago, but the motion sensor is still “on”.

I searched prior posts and can’t find any similar reports.

How can I troubleshoot this further?

i’ve also noticed this… once motion is detected, the sensor stays on.
the same seems to be true once the doorbell is pressed. it just stays on.
