Has anyone attempted or had any luck using the Ring Retrofit Hardwire Alarm Kit? I have it paired directly to Home Assistant via Z-Wave with S2 security. The zones show up in the device and I’m able to get status changes for the battery and tamper sensor. However, none of the hardwired zones change states, they all show as Idle or Safe even when I open the door.
For anyone else trying to get this to work, I was able to successfully get the zone status by using Z-Wave JS to MQTT and manually creating the following associations on the device:
Appreciate you posting this. What is the "R’ group on the 3rd line? I’m trying to add all these zones and have set things up as you have here, but I can’t get them pushed to the retrofit kit because it is asleep. How can I wake it up in order for these changes to be pushed?
Any other tips for getting this set up?
Not working for me.
When I try to add the second item, it says:
Status is always “asleep”.
I am using Zwave-JS-UI in a container.
OK. I figured out how to wake the device.
Still, no way to add endpoints 1 through 8.
I was able to do it. The above screenshot didn’t work for me.
However, after playing around this one worked for me and I can see retrofit intrusion 1-8 going safe and unsafe now under zwave app that is under devices and services settings.
You need to wake it up each time to add endpoints. ie. enter in all the info for 1 endpoint and click to add and once it submits, you need to then click the tampering switch on the retrofit for it to wake up and update the info. Do this each time for each entry.
It goes to sleep 1 second after waking it up, so you need to keep pressing that button to wake it up.
