I am trying to get my ring doorbell’s video feed to appear on my dashboard, but I can’t seem to find it on HA. All other attributes of the ring doorbell (ie: dings, motion detection, activity, battery percentage etc.) do appear on HA, except the video feed. Do I have to have a “ring protect plan” to get the video feed to appear on HA? I understand to record video I would need it, but just to stream live footage from camera on HA do I need it as well?
Thank you very much.
I followed the steps (didn’t have MQTT setup on HA, so, did that and then proceeded to follow the steps).
Integration is setup now, but I’m unsure as to how to get the camera to work still. I already had the Ring integration setup where the camera’s other attributes were appearing on HA. Do I remove that integration in order to get this to work?
You may need to look up more specific guides on how to get this working, I myself use hikvision camera’s via my synology surveillance center and HA is able to pull the ONVIF feeds into it through the synology intergration.
Did you find a solution to this? I just finished the MQTT set up, but am unsure what to use to actually be able to access live feeds on demand in my dashboard.
Read the fine print of the integration. Ring Cameras are not designed for live feed. This makes them a total waste of time. For that reason I’d never buy another.
