I am trying to create automations that set my lighting when my Roku TV is paused and unpaused. It works great, except when I use the Netflix app. With all other apps, the state of my roku device (media_player.family_room_roku_tv in my case) is “playing” or “paused” or “standby”, but with the Netflix app the state is always “on” as soon as I enter the app, regardless of whether I play or pause a movie. I can identify when the Netflix app is in use (the “source” is set to "Netflix), but I still can’t tell whether a movie is playing or not.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a way around it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
