I want to be able to have a utility meter that, rather than resetting on a given day, can report the last 30 days usage for eg. In this case, regardless of the current day, it will always give me the last 30 days.
Edit: For those wondering why this would be a good thing, it makes more sense to do it this way if you are self sufficient when it comes to water, electricity etc.

I did it in OpenHAB, but did not yet succeed to do it in Home Assistent.
My usecase is that energy will be billed yearly. With a rolling forecast I am able to predict what my yearly consumption roughly will look like. The only precondition is that you need to collect enough historic data for at least 1 year.
