My Roomba i4 has been operational for that last 2 years, with the bin status sensor being used for notifications when full.
This stopped working about a week ago, and it now shows as "not available", and the details stating" This entity is no longer being provided by the roomba integration. If the entity is no longer in use, delete it in settings."
Is this something that no longer works for all Roombas, or perhaps this model? Or is this a bug in the integration perhaps?

Worth separating two possibilities before you conclude anything, because they need different answers.
“No longer being provided by the roomba integration” means the entity wasn’t created at the last setup — the integration looks at what the robot reports when it connects and builds sensors from that. So either the robot stopped sending the bin field, or the integration stopped reading it.
The i4 is a healthy, common model and I haven’t seen reports of it being dropped, which tilts toward the first: a firmware update on the robot’s side. iRobot pushes those silently, and they have changed what the state payload contains before. If that’s what happened, no integration can invent the field back.
Two things that would tell you which it is:
Reload the integration (Settings → Devices & Services → Roomba → three dots → Reload) and watch whether the entity comes back. A connection that came up mid-handshake can produce exactly this, and a reload fixes it permanently if so.
Look at what the robot is actually sending. Download diagnostics from the integration and search for bin. If you find something like "bin": {"present": true, "full": false}, the data is there and the integration isn’t building the sensor — that’s a bug worth filing. If the block is missing entirely, the robot stopped reporting it and the trail ends there.
That diagnostics check is the useful step either way, and it’s the first thing anyone will ask you for.
If it turns out the data is present, Roomba+ is a HACS alternative that reads more of the robot’s state than the built-in integration, including several bin and dock fields. I’d hold off on installing anything until you know whether the robot is still reporting it, though — swapping integrations won’t help if the field is genuinely gone.
