Router not receiving

New to HA, I have Netgear nighhawk ax1800 wifi 6 router and cannot get newly programmed ESP32 dev kit 1 to give online icon after programing through usb port on Pi running HA. I use the same procedure on a system with linksys e1000 router and everything works fine so I know the program procedure for esphome modules is correct. I ran the add integration for netgear and it was successful. I am at a loss on what to try next. Any suggestions?

Have you got 2.4GHz enabled on the Netgear? ESPs do not support 5GHz networks.

yes both 2.4 and 5 g or enabled.

Capture the boot logs via the USB port and post them here. Don’t forget to use formatted text tags (</> in the toolbar).

I have the ASUSwrt integration and I find that it often doesn’t update certain devices. ie. It won’t show my phone as home even though it is.

The netgear integration probably has the same issue.

I haven’t found any solution for the issue on my end.

Here is log, I dont see a preview option so I am not sure I entered formated.
This was a esp8266 module I did not have an esp32 to get the logs data posted tonight

Looks like it can’t find your SSID, which means that it either isn’t presenting a 2.4GHz network or there are bad characters in it, or maybe not configured for ipv4 networks? Do you use a secrets file for SSID and password? Either way - delete and retype the SSID in the yaml file and see if that makes a difference.

I use secrets file. I also tried typing the SSID and password directly into yaml and get the same fail. I double checked the SSID and password they are correct so I assume its a router issue. Can you suggest a router model that is true and tested I can try that route.

Not really - I use a multi node TP-Link mesh.

Maybe try enabling a guest network on the Netgear and see if it will connect to that.

If they’re sharing the same SSID then your ESP is likely getting confused. Temporarily disable the 5ghz side and try to connect.

Netgear app does not have a way to disable 5g. I have a variety of smart devices all working fine. I also have an ipad that supports 5g and it connects fine. I may just bridge the linksys router and use that for HA until I get familiar with the setup and can sort out the issue. Thank you everyone for the support.

I split my 2.4g and 5g SSID’s for a similar reason.
