RPI 4 - Enable External Bluetooth

Looking for a bit of assistance, I recently upgraded my HA to SSD. Running on a RPI 4.

Since updating to the SSD and a new aluminium enclosure my mi Bluetooth temp and humidity sensors are struggling.

Prior I had 4 sensors that would stay connected around the house.

Now I only see the one in the same room as the pi.

I have purchased an extension cable and external BT module. I believe I have disabled the onboard BT in the config but I am not sure.

Is there a way to check in HA which is being used int or ext.

Seems that the ssd Bluetooth range seems a problem that occurs, has anyone got around this

Help appreciated

Thanks Francis, I had seen this and wondered! Wondering if anyone has worked around it

I’d seen the dongle on an extension has worked for people, but not sure how I can check if the external one is being used?

Other alternative is maybe to move the ssd onto the extension

I use an esp32 to read my mi temp & humidity sensors (LYWSD03MMC)
