RPi Power status Detected problem

Is there a way to drill into a problem detected to get more info? ie, I am getting an RPi Power status Detected problem, see screen shot, can’t seem to find any way to see what specifically the issue is, just a generic “detected problem” cheers for any help.

Power issues are usual on Rpi. The power bus is limited to USB current (under 5a)

Move all dongles and things that draw power to an externally powered USB hub. If you still have problems replace your power supply (yes they go bad)

Raspberry Pi Power Supply Checker

Why use the Raspberry Power supply checker at all? check amperage?

Having experienced several power related issues while also having installed the above integration, and a binary_sensor.rpi_power_status in the frontend, I am wondering why bother at all? This has never shown anything a safe state (‘off’) and green in the history. besides that, I was wondering if we can somehow measure the power the Pi is drawing. I needed that info to be sure the attached devices wouldn’t max out the total amount of available 3A of the official Power supply. Since I couldn’t ch…

I have made notification from this sensor and few months ago I started to get those notifications from my Pi4. Sometimes few in day, worst case 20 times in day. Issue lasts always 1 minute (probably sensor update period).
I bought Pi5 power supply which gives 5A, moved my SSD to separate power supply - nothing helps.
So I bought new RPi5, moved my HA there (completely new hardware, except Zigbee and Z-wave dongles) and I’M STILL GETTING this warning.
I’m really out of ideas.

I have suffered from the same errors, including the raspberry pi crashing every few days.

I own an original raspberry pi power supply.

I have finally solved it, the cable of the power supply was coiled in the package from factory, since i needed just a few centimeters of cable, i left it coiled.

A few days ago i have un-coiled it.
Apparently this is what caused the issue.

Same issue with my pi 4B.

I was using an UGreen 60W GaN charger and I was getting the message a few times per day the flag was often cleared a few seconds later.

I bought an official 15W supply… And now the problem flag is on all the time. It gets cleared after a while (from 8 to 35 mins), just to start again some minutes later.

I will go back to the UGreen charger for now, but it’s quite bothersome since it’s supposed to be my travel charger .

If somebody finds a reason why it detects the problem, or even better or a solution, let us know …

Are you running an SSD or a bunch of dongles from the USB ports? If so get a good USB hub with it’s own power supply, take that load off the main board / supply.
