RPi3 as a Bluetooth bridge?

My Hass is installed on a Virtual Machine without Bluetooth, and I’m planing to buy some Bluetooth Xiaomi MiFlora sensors. So I was wondering if it’s possible to make one of my RPi3 act like a Bluetooth bridge and pickup the Bluetooth signals and then forward it to my Hass.

This question might not be relevant anymore as it’s half a year old, but anyway…

The Plant monitor documentation mentions plantgateway which you can install on any Linux powered device (e.g., Raspberry Pi or C.H.I.P.) and it will expose Mi Flora data over MQTT.

There is also a Bluetooth mesh networking standard which was adopted by Bluetooth SIG this summer. It allows any Bluetooth 4.0 or 5.0 device to act like a signal relay/forwarder. But this one requires firmware upgrade for existing devices.
