RPi4 with UPS & SSD Combi

Hi, may I know is anyone using the X825 Sata board and X708 UPS board for home assistant that’s running in RPi4?

I think to migrate to SSD boot and would like to get the UPS as well to prevent any damage to my SSD when there is sudden trip.

Let me know what do you think about this combo.

There are sales on-going on AliExpress: [link](US $84.79 20%OFF | For Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, X825 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD Shield+X825-C7 Case+X708 UPS&Power Mgnt Board+DC 5V 4A Power Supply Kit https://a.aliexpress.com/_mK6GK3X)

IMO spend your money on a conventional UPS. Proven reliability (assuming you go with a major brand) and can also backup your other essential devices.

I think I caught a sale for my UPS, spent around a $100 and it will power my modem/firewall/router/access point and HA server for over an hour. Many UPSes can also interface with HA easily and lets you know when you have power events and you are away.

Yeah, you are right. Getting the conventional UPS is better. However, I don’t have any wall plug available anymore for the conventional UPS and it is not recommended to connect it to power strip extension. That’s why I’m looking for RPi HAT type UPS.
