RPi5 restart fails - only power unplug / replug works

Hi all - strange issue here. Have HAOS installed on an RPi5 for a while - with no issues, latest prod. For a few days in a row, whenever I do something that requires Home Assistant restart, I lose connection to home assistant.local for what feels like way longer than normal. It feels like the restart has crashed somewhere. Only way for me to get HAOS back up is to unplug from power and plug back in - then it starts with no issue.

Looking at Supervisor logs, I think the portion that’s relevant is here, though I would need your help decoding if there is anything here that would give clue as to what’s happening.

Does this happen when you restart HA or when you restart the HA host? For me, I can’t restart the host system without unplugging my powered USB hub because it back-powers the pi making it unable to shut down so I have to pull the power.

When I’m just restarting HA it is fine.

It happens when I restart HA (which I presume is restarting HAOS?) My RPi5 is fully dedicated to HAOS - it’s not in a docker.

So for example when I go to Settings > System > power icon > “Restart Homeassistant” the problem occurs. I assume this is the restart HA you’re talking about. Host would be if I selected “reboot” from the same menu? I just did that, and it restarted without issue - which I suppose makes sense because that’s the same as unplug - replug.

You should try to extract and read the homeassistant.log.1 file from the config directory.
It is the log file from the previous run.
