RTL-SDR with Honeywell Home doorbell

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to integrate a Honeywell doorbell (868 MHz) with Home Assistant OS + an RTL-SDR stick and the rtl_433 (next) add-on. Other 868 MHz devices are detected and shown in the RTL protocol with model names — but when I press the doorbell no event appears at all.

Question: Does anyone have experience with Honeywell doorbells and know whether they are supported by rtl_433, or whether Honeywell uses a proprietary / rolling-code protocol?

Is there possibly a workaround, or do you have to tap directly at the chime/receiver?

I don’t know your hardware setup, but with RTL-SDR one way or another you should be able to see the raw signal even if it’s rolling code or not recognized protocol.
