Running HA in a VM - can only access from host machine

I have installed HA version as a VM (using VMware Player) on a Windows machine.

I can successfully connect my browser using http://homeassistant.local:8123 and http://172.27.86.175:8123 from the host machine. However, I am unable to connect using either of those URLs from any other machine on the network. The mobile app is unable to find any installations.

My network uses 192.168.0.xxx as its network address so I’m not sure I understand how it is possible to access the address from the local network, but it must be possible somehow.

I downloaded the VM image from the official site. The VM has Network Connection: Bridged selected.

Home Assistant version: 2021.12.10
VMware Player version: 16.2.2
Host: Windows 10 21H2
The output from the VM ‘console’ is here:

Does anyone have any ideas where to go from here please?

make sure your vm network card is bridged with your real network card, and not ‘host only’

Could you let me know where to look for this please? This is the VMware setting:

I’ve fixed it (thanks to your prompt). You need to click on Configure Adapters. By default, all adapters are selected. The documentation says that if there is more than one, the adapter is chosen at random. So you need to select only the adapter that is connected to the network (in my case, the Ethernet card). And you need to reboot the VM.
